Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took part in signing the Gaza Board of Peace charter on Thursday in Davos, Switzerland. The ceremony was held on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting. The U.S. President Donald Trump launched the initiative of the signing.
Seventeen countries signed the charter, which included Bahrain, Morocco, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Hungary, Indonesia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Paraguay, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, and Mongolia. Officials said the Board is intended to support efforts to resolve global conflicts.
Pakistan’s delegation included senior political and military officials. Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir also attended. Sources at the event said President Trump acknowledged Munir on stage and welcomed him during the ceremony.
No specific details were released on how the Board will operate. Pakistani officials said more information would be shared later through formal channels
