Karachi has received the fourth shipment of relief supplies from China for families affected by recent floods and natural disasters in Pakistan. The latest delivery included 1,000 sleeping bags, 14,000 tents, and 12,000 blankets, officials said.
The goods were moved from the port to a warehouse in Karachi by trucks. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is handling storage and preparing to send the supplies to the hardest-hit areas. Authorities said the relief will be distributed based on local needs and priority assessments.
With this shipment, China has now provided a total of 45,000 blankets, 20,000 tents, 5,000 sleeping bags, 100 boats, and 1,000 life jackets across four consignments. These items aim to support families displaced by floods, whose homes were damaged and belongings washed away.
NDMA officials said they are using all available resources to make sure the aid reaches the people who need it most. “Our teams are coordinating with local authorities to deliver supplies as quickly as possible,” one official said. “We are also tracking the distribution to ensure nothing is delayed or lost.”
Pakistan has faced repeated natural disasters over the past years, especially floods that left thousands homeless and without basic necessities. International aid, including support from China, has been crucial in supplementing domestic relief efforts.
Officials added that the supply chain is being carefully managed. Relief items are being stored, transported, and distributed according to need. NDMA said updates on deliveries will continue as goods reach affected districts.
The arrival of this fourth shipment reflects ongoing cooperation between Pakistan and China in humanitarian assistance. Authorities said coordination with provincial and local teams remains active, ensuring that supplies reach even remote communities.
